The trip offers you to enjoy the nearest and most famous tourist destinations from Ulaanbaatar, Gorkhi-Terelj area, and the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue (Tsonjin Boldog Complex). The statue with 40 meters in height is considered the world's largest equestrian statue. The main purpose of the trip is to see the southwestern region nature of the Khenti Nuruu Mountain range, which is the southern end of the Siberian taiga. The natural scenery in this mountainous area with rocks and forest is unique. We visit a nomadic herder family and have lunch. And, you will experience horseback riding which plays an essential role in the nomadic lifestyle.

DAY 1: Terelj (80 km)

Early morning, we head to the east from Ulaanbaatar to visit the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue (Tsonjin Boldog Complex). The statue is considered the world's largest equestrian statue and the largest horse-riding statue in the world. The 40 meters massive monument was created in honor of Chinggis Khaan and the site is associated with historic event Chinggis Khaan discovered a whip on his journey. Then, we go to Gorkhi-Terelj area and take lunch with a nomad herder family. We take an hour horseback riding tour with the family’s horses. Through horseback riding, we see interesting rock formations such as Turtle Rock Terelj in a side valley and hike to Ariyabal Temple. Millions of years ago, this area’s geographical unique shape was formed by the influence of water and wind, and everyone who comes to the Terelj region like to take scenic photos. Ariyabal temple is located on the slope of the mountain and great place for hiking.
